Japanese Shrine Project

Project I did for my last year of University, creating a Japanese shrine and Samurai character.
Character was made using ZBrush, Substance Painter and animated using Maya.
Environment was created using Unreal Engine 4, by creating a custom height map in photoshop using a real world location in Northern Tsushima as a reference.
Key feature of this project was creating an artificial Split-Diopter effect using a plane with varying levels of opacity to create a fake blur/out of focus effect whilst leaving the focal points in focus.
